My Favorite Bookish Spots in Brooklyn

Places I enjoy reading when I want to get out of the house.

Don't get me wrong, I love my morning ritual of reading my book curled up on the couch. But every now and then, I love to step out into the world and soak up new vibes.
While my usual place and time to step into my book is early morning on my couch with my kitties, I do enjoy getting out of the house and letting the energy of a new space inspire me. If you're looking for a few great local reading spots in the neighborhood, here are four of my absolute favorites:
PinkFROG Café
This place is more than a café, it’s a creative sanctuary. The open layout is built to welcome artists, thinkers, and makers. You’ll find live music, locally made art, sculptures, and even a community library tucked along the back wall. Whether you’re reading, journaling, or just soaking in inspiration, PinkFROG makes you feel right at home.
Hide&Seek
This one’s my go-to when I want to feel like I’m reading in someone’s (very well-decorated) living room. With cozy sofas, comfy chairs, and a great selection of food and drinks, Hide & Seek is the kind of spot where hours slip by without you noticing.
TALEA Beer Co.
Okay, this isn’t your typical reading spot, but hear me out. Talea is one of the coolest hangouts in the area, and their space is buzzing with community. From craft nights and trivia events to casual game meet-ups, it’s a great place to bring a book, enjoy a pint, and feel surrounded by creativity.
Poetica Coffee
This one is pure vibe. Think cozy lighting, delicious pastries, big communal tables, and yes—another library in the back (are you sensing a theme here?). It’s perfect for deep reading, writing, or spending a quiet afternoon getting lost in your next favorite story.
These are just a few of the spots that make Williamsburg feel like home to me. Do you have a favorite reading spot I should check out? Leave me a comment or send me a message! I'm always up for discovering a new cozy corner.
